Hardy's big game bests Penn State University in 4-0 Adrian College win

The Adrian College Bulldog's Kaillie Hardy had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 4-0 win over the Penn State University Nitty Lions.

Hardy got on the board by slotting home a power play goal 10:36 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Adrian College. Adrian College had gotten the advantage when Penn State University's Darby Kern was sent off for tripping. Nicole Paradis picked up the assist. Hardy dished an assist on Jessica Fabbro's goal that made the score 1-0 Adrian College at 8:44 into the first period. He added another helper on Nichole Laflamme's goal that made the score 4-0 Adrian College at 19:48 into the second period.

The Bulldog put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Nitty Lions to score on any of their three power plays. Adrian College's offense rang up 48 shots on Penn State University's net.

Adrian College also got points from Fabbro, who also finished with one goal and one assist. More assists for Adrian College came via Marisa Sheppard, Tara Wrbelis, and Alicia Tait, who each chipped in one.

The Nitty Lions did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Penn State University puts an average of 2.6 pucks into the net per game. The Nitty Lions did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting eight shots on net to force eight saves.

Ellyn Stanton rejected eight shots on goal for the Bulldog. Adrian College incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Aimee Little recorded 44 saves for Penn State University. The Nitty Lions incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
