Massachusetts University of erases deficit to stun Michigan State University, 6-5

Undaunted by a three-goal deficit, the Massachusetts University of Minutemen battled back to claim a 6-5 victory over the Michigan State University Spartans.

Massachusetts University of let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a three hole to pick up the win. The Minutemen took a 4-3 advantage on a goal by Brittani Lanzilli at 6:50 in the third period. Massachusetts University of found itself down 3-0 after Michigan State University's Breana Kraut put the puck home at 17:17 in the first period. After tying things up at 5-5 on a goal by Lyndsay Oden at 15:03 in the third, the Minutemen got the game-winner from Lanzilli at 16:15 in the third period.

Lanzilli had a great game for Massachusetts University of, netting two goals.

The Minutemen excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Massachusetts University of forced the Spartans goalie Hannah Johnson to work between the pipes, taking 55 shots. The Minutemen got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Massachusetts University of also got points from Katy Turner, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Massachusetts University of included Meredith Gallagher, Victoria Bortolussi, and Meghan Lawler, who each put in one. In addition, Massachusetts University of received assists from Ally Perdios, who had one and Michaela Tosone, who had three.

Michigan State University's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Massachusetts University of power plays. The Spartans outdid their season average for goals scored.
