Downingtown East holds on for 3-2 win against WC EastIceLine Rink 1 Mon, Nov 30, 2015 WC East tried its best to erase a two-goal deficit, but Downingtown East would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2. A goal by Justin Cohn put Downingtown East up 3-1 in the third period, but WC East pulled to within one on Billy Kyle's tally 4:19 into the third period. Cohn had a great game for Downingtown East, netting two goals. Downingtown East stifled WC East's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Downingtown East also got a goal from Luca Pisani as well. More assists for Downingtown East came via Alex Fox, Thomas Rocco, and Jack MaGee, who each chipped in one. WC East could not produce up to its normal offensive output. WC East averages 5.9 goals per game. WC East was helped by Dylan McLaughlin, who had one goal. McLaughlin scored 1:40 into the first period to make the score 1-0 WC East. Chris Rodier provided the assist. In addition, WC East received assists from Sergi Kern, who had one. Downingtown East's Jeff Cummings stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Downingtown East incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors and had no power play opportunities. Joe Stacy took the loss and made 21 saves before being replaced by Joey Galitski who made zero saves. WC East finished the contest with no penalties and went 0-for-4 with the man advantage. |
