La Salle wins tough contest against St Augustine, 5-3

La Salle gutted out a close 5-3 win against St Augustine.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Jack McDonough's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

La Salle got the win with help from a great game by Joseph Mancuso, who had two goals and one assist. Mancuso scored the first of his two goals at 4:29 into the first period to make the score 2-1 St Augustine. Matthew Echelmeier provided the assist. Mancuso's next tally made the score 2-2 with 10:42 left in the first period. La Salle had gotten the advantage when St Augustine's Default Player was sent off for too many men. McDonough picked up the assist.

La Salle's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five St Augustine power plays.

La Salle also got points from McDonough, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for La Salle included Michael DalFarra and Austin Master, who scored one goal each. More assists for La Salle came via Jeffrey Gratz, Ryan Baker, and Harrison Baker, who contributed one each.

William Affel recorded 26 saves for La Salle. La Salle incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. St Augustine's Default Goaltender stopped 20 shots out of the 24 that he faced. St Augustine incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
