Belle Tire (mm) survives Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm) comeback, wins 5-3

Belle Tire (mm) came close to giving away a three-goal lead to Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm), but did just enough to escape with a 5-3 victory.

Belle Tire (mm) led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Belle Tire (mm)'s Brenden Stanko scored at 13:19 in the first period to put Belle Tire (mm) up 3-0.

Stanko and Nathan Skulley provided the spark for Belle Tire (mm), combining for four goals and three assists. Stanko grabbed two goals and two assists and Skulley also notched two goals and one assist.

Belle Tire (mm) forced Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm)'s goaltenders to work without much rest, racking up 46 shots and forcing 41 saves. Drew DeRidder made 36 stops and Sam Metcalf made five. Belle Tire (mm) excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Belle Tire (mm) also got points from Skulley, who also grabbed two goals and one assist. Cameron Babiak also scored for Belle Tire (mm). Other players who recorded assists for Belle Tire (mm) were Joey Woznicki, who had two and Nolan Baldrica, Spencer Kimball, and Brandon Kruse, who contributed one each.

Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm) stifled Belle Tire (mm)'s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Belle Tire (mm) was unable to stop Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm) from sending pucks towards the net, and Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm) eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm)'s defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm) gives up 2.2 goals per game. Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm) found itself short handed often, totaling 16 penalty minutes and allowing six power plays.

Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm) was led by PAUL BRYER, who tallied two goals and one assist. BRYER scored the first of his two goals at 10:00 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Belle Tire (mm). Jon Sanderson provided the assist. BRYER's next tally made the score 3-2 Belle Tire (mm) with 9:48 left in the second period. Trevor Bishop picked up the assist. Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm) also got a goal from Austin Wright as well. In addition, Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (mm) received assists from Cannon Green, who had one and ANDREW ANDARY, who had two.

Belle Tire (mm)'s Dominic Barton stopped 31 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Belle Tire (mm) incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
