Michigan State University beats Davenport University 4-0 as Johnson gains shutout

Hannah Johnson was superb between the pipes for the Michigan State University Spartans, as he did not allow a goal in a 4-0 victory over the Davenport University Panthers.

Michigan State University was led by Amanda Anderson, who finished with one goal. Anderson scored 11:29 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Michigan State University. Elise Plancon picked up the assist.

The Spartans' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Davenport University power plays. Michigan State University featured an improved defense during the game. The Spartans allow 2.7 goals per game. Michigan State University forced Davenport University goalie Karley Ferguson to work between the pipes, taking 69 shots.

Michigan State University also got points from Kara Scaturro, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Michigan State University also got a goal from Lyndsay Oden as well. In addition, Michigan State University received assists from Natalie Prisciandaro, who had two and Ashley Astor and Alexis Smith, who each chipped in one.

Johnson rejected 27 shots on goal for the Spartans. Michigan State University incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Ferguson recorded 65 saves for the Panthers. Davenport University incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
