Adrian College hangs on, beats Miami University 1-0

Jessica Rushing scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and the Adrian College Bulldog held off the challenges of the Miami University RedHawks in a tough 1-0 win.

Rushing provided Adrian College with the game-winning tally when he scored 3:18 into the first period. Samantha Fortune picked up the assist.

Alison Dungey frustrated Miami University's offense all game, and stopped 32 shots en route to a shutout. Dungey certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.13 entering the contest.

The Bulldog were paced by Rushing, who registered one goal.

Adrian College stifled the RedHawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Bulldog did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Adrian College puts an average of 3.4 pucks into the net per game.

Other players who recorded assists for Adrian College were Valerie Twigg, who had one.

Miami University's offense operated below its season average. The RedHawks average 2.5 goals per game. Miami University forced the Bulldog goalie Dungey to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

Adrian College incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The RedHawks' Emalee Wills stopped 17 shots out of the 18 that he faced. Miami University incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
