Miami University outlasts Lindenwood Univ - Belleville, 3-2

The Miami University RedHawks and the Lindenwood Univ - Belleville Lynx were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Miami University made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Ellen Chiligiris's goal in the second period proved to be the difference maker.

Chiligiris had a great game for the RedHawks, netting two goals.

Miami University kept Lindenwood Univ - Belleville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Firth Bidois made 36 saves on 39 shots.

Miami University also got a goal from Kaley Mooney as well. Other players who recorded assists for Miami University were Izzy Smith, who had one and Kathleen Baldwin, who had two.

The Lynx stifled the RedHawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Lindenwood Univ - Belleville was held below its usual level of production. The Lynx put an average of 4.4 pucks into the net per game.

Lindenwood Univ - Belleville was helped by Reagan Fuller, who tallied one goal. Fuller scored on the power play 1:41 into the second period to make the score 2-2. An interference penalty on Smith had put the Lynx on the power play. Cailee Laporte picked up the assist. Destiny Muir also scored for Lindenwood Univ - Belleville.

Miami University's Emalee Wills stopped 13 shots out of the 15 that he faced. The RedHawks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Lindenwood Univ - Belleville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
