M1 Niagara University rolls over M1 Slippery Rock University, 7-1

The M1 Niagara University Purple Eagles had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-1 win over the M1 Slippery Rock University Pride.

M1 Niagara University got the win behind a great game by Dalton Bew, who had one goal and three assists. Bew scored 12:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 M1 Niagara University. Brad Beran provided the assist.

The Purple Eagles' offense rang up 42 shots on M1 Slippery Rock University's net.

M1 Niagara University additionally got points from Michael Skopinski, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Andrew Mitch, who also registered one goal and two assists, Jeffrey Monfils, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and matthew Bavaro, who also racked up one goal and one assist. M1 Niagara University also had goals scored by Josh Pietrantonio and Robert Mcnamara, who each put in one. More assists for M1 Niagara University came via Tyler Stockwell, who had two.

The Pride managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. M1 Slippery Rock University finished below its season average of 12.0 penalty minutes per game. By firing 25 shots on goal, the Pride exceeded the 0.1 shots they average per game this year.

M1 Slippery Rock University was led by Garrett Godlewski, who scored the team's only goal. Godlewski scored on the power play 15:02 into the second period to make the score 3-1 M1 Niagara University. The Pride had taken the advantage when M1 Niagara University's Beran got sent off for roughing. Josh Mccuean assisted on the tally.

Mike Parda recorded 24 saves for the Purple Eagles. M1 Niagara University incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors and had no power play opportunities. M1 Slippery Rock University's Patrick Spaulding stopped 35 shots out of the 42 that he faced. The Pride registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
