Grand Valley State University falls to Liberty University in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Liberty University Flames' Chelsey Greenwood scored 1:24 into overtime to beat the Grand Valley State University Lakers, 3-2 (OT).

Greenwood had two goals and one assist to lead Liberty University. Greenwood scored the first of his two goals at 1:30 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Lauren Mcdonald assisted on the tally. Greenwood's next tally made the score 3-2 Liberty University with 18:36 left in overtime.

The Flames pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 12 penalty minutes.

Liberty University's offense operated below its season average. The Flames average 5.6 goals per game. Grand Valley State University was unable to stop Liberty University from sending pucks towards the net, and the Flames eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Liberty University also got a goal from Clarissa Tipping as well.

The Lakers kept Liberty University's goalie busy throughout the game, and Kelly Hutton made 36 saves on 38 shots.

Grand Valley State University was helped by Stacey Mathieu, who tallied one goal. Mathieu scored 15:18 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Brelin Tasker picked up the assist. Corey Robison also scored for Grand Valley State University. In addition, Grand Valley State University received assists from Tea Greca, who had one.

The Flames registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Lauren Allen rejected 29 shots on goal for the Lakers. Grand Valley State University incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
