The Liberty University Flames used a four-goal second period to put away the Davenport University Panthers, 8-1.

Catharine Burrell had one goal and two assists to lead Liberty University. Burrell scored 1:18 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Liberty University. Carrie Jickling picked up the assist.

The Flames forced Davenport University goalie Dawn Salo to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Liberty University took advantage of the Panthers' penalties, tallying two goals off of three power play opportunities.

Liberty University additionally got points from Jickling, who also grabbed three goals and two assists to lead the team in points and Kjrstin Hoberg, who also registered one goal and one assist. Liberty University also got a goal from Courtney Gilmour as well. Other players who recorded assists for Liberty University were Clarissa Tipping, who had two and Nikki Mccombe and Brittany Hymers, who each chipped in one.

Kelly Hutton recorded 21 saves for the Flames. Liberty University incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Dawn Salo made 32 saves for Davenport University on 40 shots. The Panthers totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
