M3-Tampa-University of beats M3-Kennesaw State University 10-1 as Torrico gets hat trick

A hat trick by Garrett Torrico was the highlight in Spartans' 10-1 win against M3-Kennesaw State University.

Torrico got on the scoresheet 39 seconds into the second period. He then added goals at 17:27 into the second and at 7:10 into the third.

The game was close after the first frame, but the M3-Tampa-University of Spartans banged in four goals during the second period to put the victory out of reach for M3-Kennesaw State University.

M3-Tampa-University of was led by goalie Christian Hamlett, who finished with 27 saves while allowing one goal. Hamlett managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.73 prior to the game.

The Spartans excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. M3-Tampa-University of outdid its season average for goals scored. The Spartans average 6.4 goals per game. M3-Tampa-University of got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.
