Kanata Midget AAA falls to CIHA White Midget AAA in overtime, 7-6 (OT)

The CIHA White Midget AAA White's Braeden-Jay Wynne scored 2:54 into overtime to beat the Kanata Midget AAA Lasers, 7-6 (OT).

Although CIHA White Midget AAA was up by as many as three goals in the third period, Kanata Midget AAA kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. The Lasers pulled to within 6-5 on a power play goal by Justin Palmer at 18:14 in the third period.

Wynne had a great game for the White, netting two goals.

CIHA White Midget AAA outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the White average 3.0 goals per contest. CIHA White Midget AAA took advantage of Kanata Midget AAA's penalties, tallying three goals off of five power play opportunities.

CIHA White Midget AAA also got points from Seva Losev, who also grabbed two goals and two assists, Semen Der-Arguchintsev, who also registered one goal and three assists to lead the team in points, and Pavel Gogolev, who also tallied two goals and one assist. In addition, CIHA White Midget AAA received assists from Kyle Preston, Kenshin Hayashi, Ilya Gatiyatulin, and Luka Bolduc, who contributed one each.

The White were unable to stop the Lasers from sending pucks towards the net, and Kanata Midget AAA eventually piled up 58 shots on goal. The Lasers bested their season scoring average. Kanata Midget AAA averages 3.5 goals per game. The Lasers' defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. Kanata Midget AAA averages 2.4 goals allowed per game.

Kanata Midget AAA additionally got points from David Silye, who also racked up one goal and three assists, Bennett Stockdale, who also finished with two goals and one assist, and Felix Tourigny, who also registered one goal and one assist. Andrew MacKinnon also scored for Kanata Midget AAA. More assists for Kanata Midget AAA came via Nathan MacKechnie, Daniel McIntyre, and Ty Gauthier, who each chipped in one.

Jacob Lavergne recorded 52 saves for CIHA White Midget AAA. The White incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Lasers' Cameron Scott stopped 17 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Kanata Midget AAA incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
