Gloucester Midget AAA squeaks by OHA U18 Midget AAA, 3-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Gloucester Midget AAA Rangers escaped with a 3-2 victory over the OHA U18 Midget AAA OHA U17.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Marc Brosseau's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Brosseau had two goals to lead Gloucester Midget AAA to victory.

The Rangers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow OHA U18 Midget AAA to score on any of its three power plays.

Gloucester Midget AAA also got a goal from Alex MacNeil as well. Other players who recorded assists for Gloucester Midget AAA were Erik Ross, Cameron Sinclair, Sam Paquette, Harry Sanders, and Ethan Manderville, who contributed one each.

The OHA U17 were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 14 penalty minutes.

OHA U18 Midget AAA was helped by Josh Kim, who registered one goal. Kim scored short handed 13:39 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Gloucester Midget AAA. A roughing call on Aleck Forcier put the OHA U17 on the penalty kill. Craig Garrigan provided the assist. Jon Vandermolen also scored for OHA U18 Midget AAA. In addition, OHA U18 Midget AAA received assists from Heath Ford and Justin Cheng, who each chipped in one.

Jean-Sebastien Gratton rejected 19 shots on goal for Gloucester Midget AAA. The Rangers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. OHA U18 Midget AAA's Danick Francoeur stopped 23 shots out of the 26 that he faced.
