OHA U18 Midget AAA survives Pembroke Midget AAA comeback, wins 4-3

The Pembroke Midget AAA Lumber Kings almost clawed their way back from a three-goal deficit, but the OHA U18 Midget AAA OHA U17 managed to pull out a 4-3 win in the end.

OHA U18 Midget AAA led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the OHA U17's Justin Cheng scored at 11:51 in the first period to put OHA U18 Midget AAA up 3-0.

The OHA U17 were led by Dylan Stacey, who registered one goal. Stacey scored 14:59 into the second period to make the score 4-2 OHA U18 Midget AAA. Josh Kim assisted on the tally.

OHA U18 Midget AAA's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Pembroke Midget AAA power plays.

Others who scored for OHA U18 Midget AAA included Justin Poirier and Zach Letto, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for OHA U18 Midget AAA were Julien Allard, Jon Vandermolen, Thomas Mastaler, Alexis Labranche, and Craig Garrigan, who contributed one each.

Pembroke Midget AAA was helped by Payton Jardine, who racked up one goal. Jardine scored 8:48 into the second period to make the score 3-2 OHA U18 Midget AAA. Lawson Leclaire picked up the assist. Pembroke Midget AAA also had goals scored by Jared Campitelli and Brad Richardson, who scored one goal each. In addition, Pembroke Midget AAA received assists from Noah Maika, who had one.

Francis Asselin rejected 18 shots on goal for the OHA U17. OHA U18 Midget AAA totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. The OHA U17 ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Labranche was ejected from the game. Darian McTavish recorded 21 saves for the Lumber Kings. Pembroke Midget AAA ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. For the Lumber Kings, Reid Barber was ejected from the game.
