M1 Indiana Tech beats M2 Ferris State University 10-0 as Childs gets hat trick

Jace Childs netted a hat trick to lead M1 Indiana Tech over M2 Ferris State University, 10-0.

Childs notched his first tally 3:10 into the first period. He then added goals at 10:46 into the first and at 15:04 into the third.

M2 Ferris State University was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as M1 Indiana Tech was able to score four times while on the power play.

M1 Indiana Tech excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. M1 Indiana Tech surpassed its usual scoring output this season. M1 Indiana Tech has scored at the pace of 4.4 goals per game during the current campaign. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals. M1 Indiana Tech's offense was clicking better than usual and put 54 shots on goal during the game, better than the 9.4 shots per game it averages. M1 Indiana Tech could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.
