Brockville Midget AAA uses shootout to best Cumberland Midget AAA, 3-2 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Brockville Midget AAA Braves defeated the Cumberland Midget AAA Grads in a shootout 3-2 (1-0 SO).

The shootout featured six attempts between both teams.

Brockville Midget AAA was paced by Griffin Patterson, who finished with one goal. Patterson scored on the power play 3:19 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Brockville Midget AAA. The Braves had taken the advantage when Cumberland Midget AAA's Alex Robert got sent off for interference.

In a losing effort, the Grads were led by Mathieu Plante, who grabbed two goals. Plante scored the first of his two goals at 14:40 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Brockville Midget AAA. Anthony Reyes assisted on the tally. Plante's next tally made the score 2-2 with 10:21 left in the second period. Ethan Cahill picked up the assist.

Brockville Midget AAA's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Cumberland Midget AAA power plays. Cumberland Midget AAA was unable to stop the Braves from sending pucks towards the net, and Brockville Midget AAA eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

Jacob Willard also scored for Brockville Midget AAA. Other players who recorded assists for Brockville Midget AAA were Harrison Mayotte and Sutton Allard, who contributed one each.

The Grads' offense rang up 38 shots on the Braves' net.

More assists for Cumberland Midget AAA came via Zakary Rodrigue and Wil Murray, who each chipped in one.

Brockville Midget AAA's Kyle Herbison stopped 36 shots out of the 38 that he faced. The Braves incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Seth Carter rejected 36 shots on goal for Cumberland Midget AAA. The Grads incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
