Pembroke Midget AAA wins tough contest against Kemptville Midget AAA, 5-3

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Pembroke Midget AAA Lumber Kings escaped with a 5-3 victory over the Kemptville Midget AAA 73s.

Pembroke Midget AAA gained the winning advantage on a goal by Andre Simard 2:56 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

Simard had two goals to lead the Lumber Kings to victory.

Kemptville Midget AAA's power play was ineffective against Pembroke Midget AAA's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Lumber Kings' goal total was higher than their season average. Pembroke Midget AAA has scored at the pace of 2.3 goals per game during the current campaign. The Lumber Kings could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game.

Jordan Radford also scored for Pembroke Midget AAA. More assists for Pembroke Midget AAA came via Jared Campitelli, who had two and Connor Fulton, Bailey McIntyre, Lawson Leclaire, Payton Jardine, and Tyler Dyke, who contributed one each.

The 73s excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Kemptville Midget AAA was led by Devin Saumur, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Saumur scored 10:03 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Mike Armstrong picked up the assist. Others who scored for Kemptville Midget AAA included Zach Cohen and Brady Elder, who scored one goal each. In addition, Kemptville Midget AAA received assists from Patrick Yates, Jack York, Ryan Pawlikowski, and Jack Walsh, who each chipped in one.

Jake Smith made 26 saves for Pembroke Midget AAA on 29 shots. Jacob Dioszeghy recorded 14 saves for the 73s. Kemptville Midget AAA incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
