Matthew Briggs was all over the ice for the OHA U17 Midget AAA OHA U16, as he tallied one goal and two assists in OHA U17 Midget AAA's 4-1 win over the Cornwall Midget AAA Colts.

Briggs scored 5:23 into the first period to make the score 1-0 OHA U17 Midget AAA. Curtis Egert provided the assist. Briggs dished an assist on Thomas Callaghan's goal that made the score 3-1 OHA U17 Midget AAA at 6:14 into the second period. He added another helper on Callaghan's goal that made the score 4-1 OHA U17 Midget AAA at 13:40 into the second period.

The OHA U16 stifled Cornwall Midget AAA's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

OHA U17 Midget AAA additionally got points from Tanner Brown, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for OHA U17 Midget AAA were Andre Guldbrandsen, Tod Philibert, and Cameron Roberts, who contributed one each.

The Colts put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow OHA U17 Midget AAA to score on any of its five power plays.

Cornwall Midget AAA was led by Alec Seguin, who scored the team's only goal. Seguin scored 4:16 into the second period to make the score 2-1 OHA U17 Midget AAA.

The OHA U16's Dillon Lamarche stopped 20 shots out of the 21 that he faced. OHA U17 Midget AAA incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Grant Craig made 25 saves for the Colts on 29 shots. Cornwall Midget AAA incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
