Cumberland Midget AAA outlasts Smiths Falls Midget AAA, 5-3

The game between the Cumberland Midget AAA Grads and the Smiths Falls Midget AAA Bears was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Cumberland Midget AAA emerged with a 5-3 win.

The Grads gained the winning advantage on a goal by Anthony Reyes 10:26 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

Cumberland Midget AAA got the win behind a great game by Zakary Rodrigue, who had one goal and two assists. Rodrigue scored 11:46 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Cumberland Midget AAA. Noah Johnston picked up the assist.

The Grads kept Smiths Falls Midget AAA's goalie busy throughout the game, and Kyle Renaud made 26 saves on 31 shots.

Cumberland Midget AAA additionally got points from Reyes, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Alex Robert, who also registered one goal and one assist. Cumberland Midget AAA also had goals scored by Mathieu Plante and Roman Cannell, who scored one goal each. More assists for Cumberland Midget AAA came via Andrew Robichaud, Alex Wall, Liam Peyton, and Wil Murray, who contributed one each.

The defensemen of the Bears were also effective in Cumberland Midget AAA's zone, and came away with two goals.

Smiths Falls Midget AAA was led by Dylan McMahon, who finished with one goal and one assist. McMahon scored 10 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Smiths Falls Midget AAA. Mackenzie Mercier assisted on the tally. Others who scored for Smiths Falls Midget AAA included Josh Mills and Nathan Bisson, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Smiths Falls Midget AAA were Michael Hogan, who had one.

Seth Carter recorded 21 saves for the Grads. Cumberland Midget AAA incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Bears incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
