Kemptville Midget AAA holds on for 5-4 win against CIHA Green Midget AAA

The CIHA Green Midget AAA Green tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Kemptville Midget AAA 73s would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-4.

Kemptville Midget AAA took a 5-2 lead during the third period, only to have CIHA Green Midget AAA storm back on a Marc-Andre Lecouffe goal 6:28 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

Jarrett Williams had a great game for the 73s, netting two goals. Williams found the back of the net 14:24 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Kemptville Midget AAA and again while 12:44 into the second to make the score 4-2 Kemptville Midget AAA.

Kemptville Midget AAA excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Kemptville Midget AAA additionally got points from Zach Cohen, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Kemptville Midget AAA included Patrick Yates and Ryan Pawlikowski, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Kemptville Midget AAA were Dean Bucciarelli, who had two and John Beaton, Jack York, Mike Armstrong, and Brady Elder, who contributed one each.

The Green managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. CIHA Green Midget AAA finished below its season average of 9.0 penalty minutes per game.

CIHA Green Midget AAA also got a goal from Gregory Rogers as well. In addition, CIHA Green Midget AAA received assists from Linden Spencer, who had two and Matthew Grouchy, Miguel Poirier, Bryson Michel, and Jace Lis-DAlessandro, who each chipped in one.

Nick Bond rejected 17 shots on goal for the 73s. Kemptville Midget AAA totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play. The 73s ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Williams was ejected from the game. Zachary Kott made 13 saves for the Green on 18 shots.
