Kanata Midget AAA rips Pembroke Midget AAA, 5-2

The Pembroke Midget AAA Lumber Kings had trouble finding ways to stop the Kanata Midget AAA Lasers, which beat Lumber Kings, 5-2.

Kanata Midget AAA pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 29 penalty minutes.

The Lasers were paced by Daniel McIntyre, who registered one goal. McIntyre scored 5:33 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Kanata Midget AAA. Tyler Orban picked up the assist.

Kanata Midget AAA forced Pembroke Midget AAA's netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, taking 31 shots and forcing 26 saves. Jake Smith made 20 stops and Darian McTavish made six. The Lasers stifled the Lumber Kings' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Kanata Midget AAA additionally got points from Orban, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Luca Nocita also scored for Kanata Midget AAA. Other players who recorded assists for Kanata Midget AAA were Kyle Lefebvre, who had two, David Silye, who had three, and Nathan MacKechnie, Bennett Stockdale, and Cade Townend, who each chipped in one.

Pembroke Midget AAA excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances.

The Lumber Kings were led by Jackson Norlock, who racked up one goal. Norlock scored 19 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 Kanata Midget AAA. Jared Campitelli assisted on the tally. Pembroke Midget AAA also got a goal from Brad Richardson as well. In addition, Pembroke Midget AAA received assists from Chris Grose, Noah Maika, and Tyler Dyke, who contributed one each.

Cameron Scott rejected 17 shots on goal for Kanata Midget AAA. For the Lasers, Brian Bygrave was ejected from the game. Pembroke Midget AAA incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
