Gloucester Midget AAA pulls away in second, rolls over CIHA Green Midget AAA, 7-1

The CIHA Green Midget AAA Green was within striking distance after one period, but the Gloucester Midget AAA Rangers put the pedal down in the second en route to a 7-1 victory.

Gloucester Midget AAA got the win behind a great game by Ty Morelli, who had two goals and three assists. Morelli scored the first of his two goals at 3:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Gloucester Midget AAA. Zachary Towns picked up the assist. Morelli's next tally made the score 2-0 Gloucester Midget AAA with 17:21 left in the second period. Connor Noonan assisted on the tally.

The Rangers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow CIHA Green Midget AAA to score on any of its three power plays. Gloucester Midget AAA surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Rangers average 2.7 goals per contest. The defensemen of Gloucester Midget AAA were also effective in the Green's zone, and came away with three goals.

Gloucester Midget AAA also got points from Towns, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Samuel Labre, who also had one goal and one assist, Greg Love, who also registered two goals and one assist, and Nicolas Seguin, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Gloucester Midget AAA received assists from Erik Ross, Sam Paquette, and Marc Brosseau, who each chipped in one.

Brent Pledge-Dickson made 15 saves for the Rangers on 16 shots. Gloucester Midget AAA incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Zachary Kott rejected 22 shots on goal for CIHA Green Midget AAA. The Green incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
