In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Kanata Midget AAA Lasers escaped with a 5-3 victory over the Cornwall Midget AAA Colts.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Luca Nocita secured the win for Kanata Midget AAA with a goal in the third period.

The Lasers got the win thanks to a great game by Nocita, who had one goal and three assists. Nocita scored 9:16 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Kanata Midget AAA. Bennett Stockdale provided the assist.

Kanata Midget AAA pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes.

The Lasers stifled Cornwall Midget AAA's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Kanata Midget AAA forced the Colts goalie Greg Brassard to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

Kanata Midget AAA additionally got points from Stockdale, who also registered two goals and one assist. Others who scored for Kanata Midget AAA included David Silye and Mack Miller, who each put in one. More assists for Kanata Midget AAA came via Adam Church, who had one and Cade Townend and Ty Gauthier, who contributed two each.

Cornwall Midget AAA was led by Samuel Ferland, who had two goals. Ferland scored the first of his two goals short handed at 7:23 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cornwall Midget AAA. The Colts were on a disadvantage when Ryan Lamer went off the ice for hooking. Ferland's next tally short handed made the score 3-2 Cornwall Midget AAA with 16:37 left in the third period. Joseph Samson picked up the assist. Cornwall Midget AAA also got a goal from Alec Seguin as well. In addition, Cornwall Midget AAA received assists from Ethan Mulhearn, who had one.

The Lasers' Jean-Philippe Tourigny stopped 21 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Kanata Midget AAA registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Greg Brassard made 32 saves for Cornwall Midget AAA on 37 shots. The Colts incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
