Gloucester Midget AAA wins tough contest against Nepean Midget AAA, 4-2

The game between the Gloucester Midget AAA Rangers and the Nepean Midget AAA Raiders was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Gloucester Midget AAA emerged with a 4-2 win.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Zachary Towns's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Cameron Sinclair had a great game for the Rangers, netting two goals. Sinclair's tallies came at 9:29 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and 9:19 into the third to make the score 3-1 Gloucester Midget AAA.

Gloucester Midget AAA excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Gloucester Midget AAA also got a goal from Connor Noonan as well. More assists for Gloucester Midget AAA came via Ty Morelli and Matt Mullin, who contributed one each.

Nepean Midget AAA stifled the Rangers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Raiders' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Nepean Midget AAA was helped by JJ Boucher, who tallied one goal. Boucher scored 25 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-0 Nepean Midget AAA. Robbie Pickard assisted on the tally. Nepean Midget AAA additionally got points from Pickard, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Nepean Midget AAA received assists from Connor Lacey, Kyle Kuehni, and Ryan Kaufman, who each chipped in one.

Gloucester Midget AAA's Jean-Sebastien Gratton stopped 22 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The Rangers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Marshall Frappier rejected 25 shots on goal for the Raiders. Nepean Midget AAA incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
