M2 Rider University's Johnson deadly on offense in 6-2 win against M1 Lehigh University

M2 Rider University relied on the scoring touch of Christopher Johnson, who netted two goals, to beat the M1 Lehigh University Mountain Hawks, 6-2.

Johnson's tallies came at 17 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 M2 Rider University and 13:59 into the first to make the score 3-1 M2 Rider University.

M2 Rider University forced M1 Lehigh University goalie Patrick Walgren to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. M2 Rider University bested its season scoring average. M2 Rider University averages 3.5 goals per game. M2 Rider University struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 28 penalty minutes for five opposing power plays.

Others who scored for M2 Rider University included Christopher Daley, who had two and Vincent Arlotta and Conner Fox, who each put in one. In addition, M2 Rider University received assists from Michael Katz and Eric Bozzi, who contributed one each and John Martino and Patrick Grilli, who each chipped in two.

The Mountain Hawks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. M1 Lehigh University did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Mountain Hawks put an average of 5.1 pucks into the net per game.

The Mountain Hawks had gotten the advantage when M2 Rider University's Nicholas Leelum was sent off for tripping. Kevin McGee assisted on the tally. Ramondelli's next tally on the power play made the score 4-2 M2 Rider University with 19:35 left in the third period. McGee picked up the assist. More assists for M1 Lehigh University came via Andrew Clayton, who had two.

CJ Lineman recorded 17 saves for M2 Rider University. Walgren rejected 34 shots on goal for M1 Lehigh University. The Mountain Hawks incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
