Kai Edmonds stood on his head and made 34 saves to lead the Cumberland Midget AAA Grads to a 3-1 victory over the Kanata Midget AAA Lasers.

Cumberland Midget AAA pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes.

The Grads were sparked by Alex Wall, who registered one goal. Wall scored on the power play 2:33 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Cumberland Midget AAA. Cumberland Midget AAA had gained a power play chance when Tyler Orban was whistled for roughing after whistle. Anthony Reyes assisted on the tally.

The Grads put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Kanata Midget AAA to score on any of its six power plays.

Cumberland Midget AAA also got points from Roman Cannell, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. TJ Price also scored for Cumberland Midget AAA. In addition, Cumberland Midget AAA received assists from Zakary Rodrigue, Tommy Stevenson, Alex Robert, and Wil Murray, who contributed one each.

The Lasers could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Kanata Midget AAA averages 3.5 goals per game. Cumberland Midget AAA was unable to stop the Lasers from sending pucks towards the net, and Kanata Midget AAA eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. The Lasers struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 14 penalty minutes for six opposing power plays.

Kanata Midget AAA was led by Mack Miller, who scored the team's only goal. Miller scored 5:54 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Luca Nocita picked up the assist.

Jean-Philippe Tourigny recorded 23 saves for the Lasers.
