Kanata Midget AAA beats Hawkesbury Midget AAA 7-4 as Stockdale gets hat trick

Bennett Stockdale netted a hat trick to lead the Kanata Midget AAA Lasers over the Hawkesbury Midget AAA Hawks, 7-4.

Stockdale's first goal came 12:10 into the first period. He then added goals at 2:46 into the second and at 5:04 into the second.

Kanata Midget AAA pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes.

The Lasers were efficient when they shot the puck, scoring their goals on only seven shots.

Kanata Midget AAA's goal total was higher than its season average. The Lasers average 3.5 goals per game.

Kanata Midget AAA also got points from Luca Nocita, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Kanata Midget AAA also got a goal from David Silye as well. In addition, Kanata Midget AAA received assists from Mack Miller, who had two and Brian Bygrave, Cade Townend, Ty Gauthier, and Kyle Lefebvre, who each chipped in one.

Hawkesbury Midget AAA excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Kanata Midget AAA's defense shut down the Hawks' forwards for much of the game, and Hawkesbury Midget AAA got off only 14 shots during the contest.

The Hawks were helped by Nathan Sauve, who had one goal. Sauve scored 8:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Hawkesbury Midget AAA. Cedric Roth assisted on the tally. Martin Lavigne also scored for Hawkesbury Midget AAA. Other players who recorded assists for Hawkesbury Midget AAA were Liam Calder, Adam Levesque, Cameron Buck, and Brandon Legare, who contributed one each.

Hawkesbury Midget AAA incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
