The Cumberland Midget AAA Grads pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Kanata Midget AAA Lasers on a clutch goal by Liam Peyton.

Cumberland Midget AAA was sparked by Peyton, who had one goal. Peyton scored 3:22 into overtime to make the score 3-2 Cumberland Midget AAA.

The Grads stifled Kanata Midget AAA's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Lasers were unable to stop Cumberland Midget AAA from sending pucks towards the net, and the Grads eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

Cumberland Midget AAA also had goals scored by Zakary Rodrigue and Alex Robert, who each put in one.

Kanata Midget AAA put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Cumberland Midget AAA to score on any of its four power plays. The Lasers forced the Grads goalie Seth Carter to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots.

Kanata Midget AAA was helped by Bennett Stockdale, who grabbed one goal. Stockdale scored 14:00 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Kanata Midget AAA. Luca Nocita picked up the assist. Kanata Midget AAA additionally got points from Nocita, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Kanata Midget AAA received assists from David Silye and Mack Miller, who contributed one each.

Seth Carter made 41 saves for Cumberland Midget AAA on 43 shots. The Grads incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Lasers' Jean-Philippe Tourigny stopped 30 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Kanata Midget AAA incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
