Noah Haymes scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and the Ottawa Midget AAA Senators held off the challenges of the Pembroke Midget AAA Lumber Kings in a tough 2-0 win.

The Senators' penalty kill excelled, as Ottawa Midget AAA gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

The Senators were sparked by Haymes, who racked up one goal.

Ottawa Midget AAA stifled Pembroke Midget AAA's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Senators' defensive effort looked to be improved. Ottawa Midget AAA gives up 2.4 goals on average per game. The Senators could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game.

Jean-Sylvain Boyer also scored for Ottawa Midget AAA. Other players who recorded assists for Ottawa Midget AAA were Alderic Denis, who had one.

The Lumber Kings excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Pembroke Midget AAA did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Lumber Kings average 2.3 goals per game.

Nicolas Rousseau made 23 saves for Ottawa Midget AAA on 23 shots. Pembroke Midget AAA's Jake Smith stopped 17 shots out of the 19 that he faced. The Lumber Kings incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
