Rebels' comeback falls short, Smiling Penguins wins 5-3

Smiling Penguins came close to giving away a three-goal lead to Rebels, but did just enough to escape with a 5-3 victory.

Smiling Penguins led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Smiling Penguins' Babak Filsoof scored at 8:47 in the first period to put Smiling Penguins up 3-0.

The defensemen of Smiling Penguins were also effective in Rebels' zone, and came away with two goals.

Smiling Penguins was helped by Sunny Parmar, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Parmar scored 6:53 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Smiling Penguins. Andrew Yick provided the assist. Smiling Penguins additionally got points from Kristoffer Fransson, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Smiling Penguins also had goals scored by Sanjay Mahindru and Ryan Hanuman, who scored one goal each. In addition, Smiling Penguins received assists from Adam Hanuman, who had one and Chung Wai Tam, who had two.

Rebels was led by Adam Davies, who finished with three goals. More assists for Rebels came via Jack Cowie, Vincent Nguyen, Simon Leader, and Luke Joncas, who each chipped in one.

Smiling Penguins' David Sebela stopped 12 shots out of the 15 that he faced. Smiling Penguins avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of zero power plays. Jag Chahal rejected 17 shots on goal for Rebels. Rebels ended with no penalties and went 0-for-0 on the power play.
