Huge game by Fransson boosts Smiling Penguins over K.O. Squad, 6-2

Behind a great game by Kristoffer Fransson, who had two goals and three assists, Smiling Penguins defeated K.O. Squad, 6-2.

Fransson scored at 2:33 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Smiling Penguins and again while 4:49 into the second to make the score 5-1 Smiling Penguins.

Smiling Penguins' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in four goals.

Smiling Penguins also got points from Eiji Nukina, who also had one goal and one assist. Smiling Penguins also got a goal from Babak Filsoof as well. In addition, Smiling Penguins received assists from Adam Hanuman, Melvin Dang, Jason DSouza, Chung Wai Tam, and Cameron Lee, who each chipped in one.

K.O. Squad was held below its usual level of production. K.O. Squad puts an average of 5.3 pucks into the net per game. K.O. Squad did not rack up many penalties in the contest, registering just one minor for two minutes in penalty time. K.O. Squad got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

K.O. Squad was led by Paul Chia, who finished with one goal. Chia scored 3:00 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Kam Dhatt picked up the assist. Andrew Fong also scored for K.O. Squad. Other players who recorded assists for K.O. Squad were Bryan Panchuk, who had one.

Michael Der rejected 16 shots on goal for Smiling Penguins. Smiling Penguins ended with no penalties and went 1-for-1 on the power play. Bruce Wayne recorded 21 saves for K.O. Squad. K.O. Squad registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities.
