M1 Saint Bonaventure University holds on for 5-4 win against M1 Binghamton University

The M1 Binghamton University Bearcats tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the M1 Saint Bonaventure University Bonnies held on for a 5-4 victory.

M1 Saint Bonaventure University made the score 4-2 on a goal by Andrew Farnham at 14:57 in the second period, and M1 Binghamton University got as close as 4-3 when Joseph Posillico scored 3:54 into the third period.

John Rogers had two goals to lead the Bonnies to victory. Rogers scored at 10:47 into the first period to make the score 3-1 M1 Saint Bonaventure University and again while 11:20 into the third to make the score 5-4 M1 Saint Bonaventure University.

M1 Saint Bonaventure University stifled the Bearcats' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Bonnies put 41 shots on net during the contest, more than the 1.7 they average per game. M1 Saint Bonaventure University could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

M1 Saint Bonaventure University also had goals scored by Michael Cumbo and Tyler Gokey, who scored one goal each. More assists for M1 Saint Bonaventure University came via Evan Wohlabaugh, Andrew Hayn, and Michael Mendola, who each chipped in one.

M1 Binghamton University's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three M1 Saint Bonaventure University power plays. The Bonnies were unable to stop the Bearcats from sending pucks towards the net, and M1 Binghamton University eventually piled up 66 shots on goal.

The Bearcats were helped by Peter Russo, who finished with two goals. Russo scored the first of his two goals at 14:34 into the second period to make the score 3-2 M1 Saint Bonaventure University. Kyle Lawrence assisted on the tally. Russo's next tally made the score 4-4 with 13:11 left in the third period. Nick Catrone picked up the assist. Zachary Schappert also scored for M1 Binghamton University.

Alex Feyche recorded 62 saves for M1 Saint Bonaventure University. Will Kuettel made 36 saves for M1 Binghamton University on 41 shots. The Bearcats incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
