Smiths Falls Midget AAA rolls over CIHA White Midget AAA, 5-2

The Smiths Falls Midget AAA Bears were firing on all cylinders against the CIHA White Midget AAA White, and when the final buzzer sounded Bears emerged with a 5-2 win.

Smiths Falls Midget AAA was sparked by Connor Drost, who grabbed one goal. Drost scored 10:29 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Smiths Falls Midget AAA. Blake Kettyle assisted on the tally.

The Bears managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Smiths Falls Midget AAA finished below its season average of 7.0 penalty minutes per game. The Bears outdid their season average for goals scored. Smiths Falls Midget AAA averages 2.5 goals per game.

Smiths Falls Midget AAA also got points from Ethan Coltart, who also registered one goal and one assist. Smiths Falls Midget AAA also got a goal from Mackenzie Mercier as well. In addition, Smiths Falls Midget AAA received assists from Chris Bernard, Nathan Bisson, Brock Boisclair, Matthew Bidin, and Dylan McMahon, who contributed one each.

CIHA White Midget AAA excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

The White were helped by Pavel Gogolev, who finished with one goal. Gogolev scored 6:55 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Smiths Falls Midget AAA. Khoi Manchester picked up the assist. Markus Odermatt also scored for CIHA White Midget AAA. Other players who recorded assists for CIHA White Midget AAA were Jared Weber and Braeden-Jay Wynne, who each chipped in one.

Alex Zoutis made 21 saves for the Bears on 23 shots. CIHA White Midget AAA's Jacob Lavergne stopped 13 shots out of the 17 that he faced. The White incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
