Brockville Midget AAA survives OHA U17 Midget AAA comeback, wins 5-3

The OHA U17 Midget AAA OHA U16 tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Brockville Midget AAA Braves would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-3.

Brockville Midget AAA took a 5-2 lead during the third period, only to have OHA U17 Midget AAA storm back on a Robert Howatt goal 18:08 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

The Braves were led by Jacob Shankar, who registered one goal. Shankar scored 8:05 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Brockville Midget AAA. Jared Patterson picked up the assist.

Brockville Midget AAA managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Braves ended up below its season average of 14.0 penalty minutes per game. Brockville Midget AAA bested its season scoring average. The Braves average 2.6 goals per game.

Brockville Midget AAA also got points from Mark Morrison, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Brockville Midget AAA included Serron Noel, Griffin Patterson, and Colin Marshall, who each put in one. More assists for Brockville Midget AAA came via Ben Davy, who had two.

The OHA U16 were helped by Dylan Coffey, who had one goal. Coffey scored 7:51 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Brockville Midget AAA. Thomas Harper provided the assist. Nash McLean also scored for OHA U17 Midget AAA. In addition, OHA U17 Midget AAA received assists from Cameron Roberts, who had one.

Ryan Green rejected 25 shots on goal for Brockville Midget AAA. The Braves registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Dillon Lamarche made 25 saves for OHA U17 Midget AAA on 30 shots. The OHA U16 incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
