The Hawkesbury Midget AAA Hawks tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Smiths Falls Midget AAA Bears held on for a 2-1 victory.

A goal by Sebastien Semerdjiev put Smiths Falls Midget AAA up 2-0 in the second period, but Hawkesbury Midget AAA pulled to within one on Luke Paquette's tally 45 seconds into the third period.

The Bears were led by Semerdjiev, who registered one goal. Semerdjiev scored 3:39 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Smiths Falls Midget AAA. Connor Drost provided the assist.

Smiths Falls Midget AAA also got a goal from Blake Kettyle as well. More assists for Smiths Falls Midget AAA came via Matthew Bidin and Dylan McMahon, who contributed one each.

The Hawks managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Hawkesbury Midget AAA finished below its season average of 9.0 penalty minutes per game.

In addition, Hawkesbury Midget AAA received assists from Liam Calder, who had one.

Kyle Renaud recorded 17 saves for Smiths Falls Midget AAA. The Bears incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Alex Labreche made 19 saves for the Hawks on 21 shots. Hawkesbury Midget AAA registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
