Rodrigue leads Cumberland Midget AAA over Ottawa Midget AAA, 4-3

Behind a great game by Zakary Rodrigue, who had two goals and two assists, the Cumberland Midget AAA Grads defeated the Ottawa Midget AAA Senators, 4-3.

Rodrigue's tallies came at 8:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cumberland Midget AAA and 19:08 into the third to make the score 4-3 Cumberland Midget AAA.

Cumberland Midget AAA's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Ottawa Midget AAA power plays. The Grads kept Ottawa Midget AAA's goalie busy throughout the game, and Cedrick Andree made 37 saves on 41 shots.

Cumberland Midget AAA also got points from Roman Cannell, who also grabbed one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Mathieu Plante also scored for Cumberland Midget AAA. In addition, Cumberland Midget AAA received assists from Noah Johnston, Ethan Cahill, and Tommy Stevenson, who contributed one each.

The Senators' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Ottawa Midget AAA finished with 14 penalty minutes.

The Senators were led by Noah Haymes, who racked up two goals. Haymes scored the first of his two goals at 14:36 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Tyler Villeneuve provided the assist. Haymes' next tally made the score 3-3 with 18:52 left in the second period. Adrien Bisson picked up the assist. Ottawa Midget AAA also got a goal from Jacob Lamont as well. More assists for Ottawa Midget AAA came via Danny Johnson and Nicholas Raponi de Roia, who each chipped in one.

Kai Edmonds recorded 19 saves for Cumberland Midget AAA. The Grads incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
