Miami University downs Michigan State University, 3-1

Ellen Chiligiris registered one point to lead the Miami University RedHawks to a 3-1 victory over the Michigan State University Spartans.

Miami University managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The RedHawks wound up below its season average of 5.0 penalty minutes per game. Michigan State University was unable to stop Miami University from sending pucks towards the net, and the RedHawks eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

Others who scored for Miami University included Izzy Smith and Kaley Mooney, who each put in one. More assists for Miami University came via Caroline Noble, Rachael Booth, Kathleen Baldwin, Alyssa Visalli, Nicole Matthews, and Jessica Gould, who each chipped in one.

The Spartans stifled Miami University's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Michigan State University was led by Andrea Uglietta, who scored the team's only goal. Uglietta scored 9:24 into the second period to make the score 1-1.
