The Brockville Midget AAA Braves failed to take advantage of their power play opportunities and the Carleton Place Midget AAA Canadians shook off a number of penalties to win, 5-1.

Carleton Place Midget AAA was paced by Emile Cyr, who grabbed one goal. Cyr scored 2:02 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Carleton Place Midget AAA. Cameron Scissons picked up the assist.

The Canadians stifled Brockville Midget AAA's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Carleton Place Midget AAA was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 26 penalty minutes.

Others who scored for Carleton Place Midget AAA included Ryland Mosley, who had two and Reece Bolton and Oliver Carriere, who scored one goal each. In addition, Carleton Place Midget AAA received assists from Spencer Marshall, Dale Kilby, Ryan Shaw, and Scott Gervais, who contributed one each.

The Braves put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Canadians to score on any of their eight power plays.

Brockville Midget AAA was led by Brett Lannin, who scored the team's only goal. Lannin scored 10:41 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Carleton Place Midget AAA. Gary Hicks assisted on the tally.

Chris Cuglietta rejected 19 shots on goal for Carleton Place Midget AAA. Ryan Green recorded 24 saves for the Braves. Brockville Midget AAA incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with 14 minors.
