Jake Smith stood on his head and made 34 saves to lead the Pembroke Midget AAA Lumber Kings to a 2-1 victory over the Kemptville Midget AAA 73s.

Pembroke Midget AAA pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes.

The Lumber Kings were sparked by Brad Richardson, who registered one goal and one assist. Richardson scored 11:04 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Pembroke Midget AAA.

Pembroke Midget AAA excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances.

Pembroke Midget AAA also got a goal from Will Searle as well. In addition, Pembroke Midget AAA received assists from Jared Campitelli, who had one.

Kemptville Midget AAA forced the Lumber Kings goalie Smith to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. The 73s could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game.

Kemptville Midget AAA was led by Devin Saumur, who scored the team's only goal. Saumur scored 6:48 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Kemptville Midget AAA.

Pembroke Midget AAA registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. Jacob Dioszeghy recorded 17 saves for the 73s.
