The Cumberland Midget AAA Grads survived a determined comeback attempt by the OHA U18 Midget AAA OHA U17 on the way to a 2-1 win.

Cumberland Midget AAA made the score 2-0 on a goal by Wil Murray at 12 seconds in the third period, and OHA U18 Midget AAA got as close as 2-1 when Heath Ford scored 18:26 into the third period.

Murray had a great game for the Grads, netting two goals.

Cumberland Midget AAA's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five OHA U18 Midget AAA power plays.

Other players who recorded assists for Cumberland Midget AAA were Francois Drouin, who had one and Alex Wall, who had two.

The OHA U17 put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Grads to score on any of their seven power plays. OHA U18 Midget AAA's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the OHA U17 finished with 14 penalty minutes.

In addition, OHA U18 Midget AAA received assists from Justin Cheng, who had one.

Kai Edmonds rejected 15 shots on goal for Cumberland Midget AAA. The Grads incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Francis Asselin recorded 20 saves for OHA U18 Midget AAA.
