Pensacola rolls over Huntsville, 4-1

The Pensacola Ice Flyers were firing on all cylinders against the Huntsville Havoc, and when the final buzzer sounded Ice Flyers emerged with a 4-1 win.

Pensacola was led by goalie John McLean, who finished with 30 saves while allowing one goal. McLean managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.44 prior to the game.

The Ice Flyers were led by Adam Pawlick, who registered one goal. Pawlick scored on the power play 2:48 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Pensacola. Pensacola had gained a power play chance when Dave Williams was whistled for hooking. Cole Ruwe provided the assist.

The Ice Flyers were often in penalty trouble, totaling seven minors and two majors for 24 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 19.0 minutes per game Pensacola had been spending in the box. The Ice Flyers did not challenge the opposing netminder, totaling only 14 shots on net to force 10 saves. The shot total fell below Pensacola's season average of 27.1 shots per game. The Ice Flyers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

Pensacola additionally got points from Stephen Buco, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Ludlow Harris, who also had one goal and one assist, and Mark Rivera, who also racked up one goal and one assist. More assists for Pensacola came via Mike Krieg, Dean Moore, Joe Caveney, and Brandon Blair, who contributed one each.

Huntsville could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game. The Havoc's offense rang up 31 shots on Pensacola's net.

Huntsville was led by Will Aide, who took two shots.

The Ice Flyers registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Kevin Genoe made 10 saves for the Havoc on 14 shots.
