Knoxville blows out Macon Mayhem, 4-1

The Knoxville Ice Bears were firing on all cylinders against Macon Mayhem, and when the final buzzer sounded Ice Bears emerged with a 4-1 win.

Knoxville was paced by Todd Hosmer, who racked up one goal. Hosmer scored 18:47 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Knoxville. Garrett Vermeersch picked up the assist.

The Ice Bears stifled Macon Mayhem's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Knoxville's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Knoxville also got points from Andrew Bonazza, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Jason Price, who also registered one goal and one assist. Knoxville also got a goal from Brad Pawlowski as well. More assists for Knoxville came via Dennis Sicard, who had two and Jake Flegel and John Clewlow, who contributed one each.

Shawn Skelly was the focal point of Macon Mayhem's attack, as he took and seven out of his team's 15 shots.

In addition, Macon Mayhem received assists from Ryan Michel and Jake Trask, who each chipped in one.

Bryan Hince recorded 14 saves for the Ice Bears. Knoxville totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Curtis Martinu made 20 saves for Macon Mayhem on 23 shots. Macon Mayhem totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-3 on the power play.
