Ruby stymies Mississippi RiverKings, Huntsville wins 4-1

The Huntsville Havoc relied on the sparkling performance of Jordan Ruby in net to grab a 4-1 win against Mississippi RiverKings.

Huntsville was led by goalie Ruby, who finished with 35 saves while allowing one goal. Ruby certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.73 entering the contest.

The Havoc put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Mississippi RiverKings to score on any of its five power plays.

Huntsville was led by Kyle McNeil, who registered two goals. McNeil scored the first of his two goals at 4:55 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Huntsville. John McGinnis assisted on the tally. McNeil's next tally made the score 4-1 Huntsville with one second1 seconds left in the third period. Steve Mele picked up the assist. Others who scored for Huntsville included Scott Henegar and John Lidgett, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Huntsville were Stuart Stefan, Jackson Brewer, Brett Lutes, and Will Aide, who contributed one each.

Mississippi RiverKings stifled the Havoc's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The defense for Mississippi RiverKings played an important role offensively, racking up 16 shots on goal. Mississippi RiverKings' offense rang up 36 shots on Huntsville's net.

Mississippi RiverKings was led by Matt Harrington, who scored the team's only goal. Harrington scored 13:27 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Sam Higgins assisted on the tally.

The Havoc incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Garrett Sheehan rejected 21 shots on goal for Mississippi RiverKings. Mississippi RiverKings incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
