Mississippi RiverKings wins tough contest against Peoria, 3-2

The game between Mississippi RiverKings and the Peoria Rivermen was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Mississippi RiverKings emerged with a 3-2 win.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Linden Bahm's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Mississippi RiverKings was paced by Bahm, who finished with one goal and one assist. Bahm scored on the power play 10:09 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Mississippi RiverKings. Mississippi RiverKings had gotten the advantage when Peoria's Matt Summers was sent off for hooking. Ian Young picked up the assist.

Mississippi RiverKings stifled the Rivermen's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Mississippi RiverKings also had goals scored by Benjamin Rubin and Mark Pustin, who scored one goal each. More assists for Mississippi RiverKings came via Dean Willmott, Sam Higgins, Devin Mantha, and Travis Howe, who contributed one each.

With 34 shots on target during the contest, Peoria exceeded the 26.6 shots it averages per game this year.

Alec Hagaman also scored for Peoria. Other players who recorded assists for Peoria were Terrence Wallin, who had one and Adam Stuart, who had two.

Mississippi RiverKings' Peter Di Salvo stopped 32 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Mississippi RiverKings incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Kyle Rank rejected 24 shots on goal for the Rivermen. Peoria incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
