Fayetteville outlasts Pensacola, 4-3Crown Coliseum Sat, Nov 28, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Fayetteville FireAntz escaped with a 4-3 victory over the Pensacola Ice Flyers. Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Josh McQuade's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker. With 34 shots on target during the contest, Fayetteville exceeded the 27.7 shots it averages per game this year. Fayetteville also had goals scored by Brad Plumton, Cole Wilson, and Zac Frischmon, who each put in one. In addition, Fayetteville received assists from Berkley Scott, Derek Elliott, Tayler Thompson, and Zach Carriveau, who contributed one each and Joseph Manno and Graeme Strukoff, who each chipped in two. Pensacola put 30 shots on net during the contest, more than the 26.7 it averages per game. The Ice Flyers were led by Jeremy Gates, who registered one goal and two assists. Gates scored on the power play 38 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-2 Pensacola. Stephen Buco picked up the assist. Pensacola also got points from Buco, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Pensacola also got a goal from Joseph Holka as well. Other players who recorded assists for Pensacola were Mike Krieg, Ludlow Harris, and Adam Pawlick, who contributed one each. Parker Van Buskirk recorded 27 saves for the FireAntz. Fayetteville incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Matt Zenzola made 30 saves for Pensacola on 34 shots. The Ice Flyers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
