Mississippi RiverKings squeaks by Knoxville, 4-2

The game between Mississippi RiverKings and the Knoxville Ice Bears was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Mississippi RiverKings emerged with a 4-2 win.

Mississippi RiverKings gained the winning advantage on a goal by Devin Mantha 7:22 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Mississippi RiverKings was led by Mantha, who finished with one goal.

Mississippi RiverKings averages 29.1 shots on goal per game, but only sent 23 pucks on net against Knoxville.

Mississippi RiverKings also got points from Charles Mosey, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Linden Bahm, who also had one goal and one assist, and Matt Beer, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Mississippi RiverKings came via Ian Young, Mark Pustin, and Mike Grace, who contributed one each.

With 31 shots on target during the contest, the Ice Bears exceeded the 24.5 shots they average per game this year.

Knoxville was helped by Doug Reid, who registered one goal. Reid scored on the power play 15:37 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Knoxville. The Ice Bears had taken the advantage when Mississippi RiverKings' Peter Di Salvo got sent off for delay of game. Corey Hale picked up the assist. Knoxville also got a goal from Zack LaRue as well. In addition, Knoxville received assists from Ben Power, Todd Hosmer, and Josh Cousineau, who each chipped in one.
