Huntsville falls to Mississippi RiverKings after surprising comeback

Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, Mississippi RiverKings battled back to claim a 6-5 victory over the Huntsville Havoc.

Mississippi RiverKings never led in the game until netting the game winner. Mississippi RiverKings was down 4-2 after a goal by Huntsville's Jason Popek at 3:26 in the second period. Mississippi RiverKings knotted things up at 5-5 on a goal by Linden Bahm at 9:43 in the third period. Mississippi RiverKings got the game winner on the power play at 12:37 in the third period on a goal by Bahm.

Mississippi RiverKings outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, Mississippi RiverKings averages 3.4 goals per contest. Mississippi RiverKings gave up more goals than its normal season average. Mississippi RiverKings is averaging 2.4 goals against for the season. Mississippi RiverKings' offense was clicking better than usual and put 43 shots on goal during the game, better than the 28.8 shots per game it averages.

Mississippi RiverKings was led by Mark Pustin, who registered three goals and one assist. Mississippi RiverKings also got points from Bahm, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Matt Grogan rejected 19 shots on goal for Mississippi RiverKings. Mississippi RiverKings incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Kevin Genoe made 37 saves for the Havoc on 43 shots. Huntsville incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
