M1 Niagara University downs M1 John Carroll University, 4-1

Ryan Peters registered one point to lead the M1 Niagara University Purple Eagles to a 4-1 victory over the M1 John Carroll University Blue Streaks.

M1 Niagara University excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Purple Eagles kept M1 John Carroll University's goalie busy throughout the game, and Dustin Stevens made 35 saves on 39 shots.

M1 Niagara University also got points from Andrew Mitch, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. M1 Niagara University also had goals scored by Tyler Stockwell and Patrick Gregory, who scored one goal each. In addition, M1 Niagara University received assists from Dallas Szustak, Nick Smith, Joseph Sheena, Dalton Bew, and Alex Wagner, who each chipped in one.

The Blue Streaks were held below their usual level of production. M1 John Carroll University puts an average of 3.1 pucks into the net per game. With 25 shots on target during the contest, the Blue Streaks exceeded the 2.4 shots they average per game this year.

M1 John Carroll University was led by Greg Makozy, who scored the team's only goal. Makozy scored 15:08 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Cullen McMahon assisted on the tally.

Mike Parda recorded 24 saves for M1 Niagara University. The Purple Eagles incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Blue Streaks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
