The Amherstview Jets and the Gananoque Islanders skate to 5-5 (OT) tie

Behind two goals and two assists from Patrick Lyster and one goal and two assists from Matt Carter, Gananoque drew with Amherstview 5-5 (OT).

The Jets were led by Adam Kim, who grabbed two goals and one assist. Kim scored the first of his two goals at 1:32 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Dorian Overland picked up the assist. Kim's next tally made the score 3-2 Amherstview with 12:00 left in the second period. Brett Maracle provided the assist. Amherstview additionally got points from Brett Yake, who also registered one goal and one assist, Zach Maciel, who also had one goal and one assist, and Maracle, who also racked up one goal and one assist. More assists for Amherstview came via Cosimo Morin, who had two and Zach Kish and Cody Jodoin, who each chipped in one.

The Islanders forced Amherstview goalie Adam Redgate to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots.

Gananoque also got points from Carter, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Gananoque also had goals scored by Hunter Drew and Drew Marquette, who scored one goal each. In addition, Gananoque received assists from Ryosuke Kabayashi, who had two and Phil Smith and Brody Cross, who contributed one each.

Adam Redgate made 39 saves for the Jets on 44 shots. Amherstview totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play. For the Jets, Konner Burtenshaw was ejected from the game. Quinn Cota rejected 21 shots on goal for Gananoque. The Islanders totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play. Gananoque ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Duncan McNaughton was ejected from the game.
